Parkway Little League offers a number of travel team opportunities each summer. Typically this includes teams that are either tournament-based or teams that are league-based.
League-based teams:
League-based divisions participate in the Suburban Youth Baseball League for ages 9-12, and the Friendship League for ages 7-8. These divisions consist of approximately 10 regular season games plus playoffs. Games are generally mid-week in the evening from mid-June until late-July. Playoffs occur in early August. Away games involve travel to neighboring towns including Needham, Walpole, Medfield, Westwood, etc. These divisions also participate in the Mayor's Cup tournament at ages 9-12, which is typically held over the course of a week with finals over a weekend in mid-to-late July. Additional tournaments may also be added as scheduling permits.
Tournament-based teams:
Tournament-based teams may be formed as an alternative to Suburban or Friendship League play at the "A" team level. Such teams will typically practice during the week and compete in up to 4 weekend tournaments throughout July and early August.
Registration and Tryouts:
Both league and tournament teams are tryout-based due to the limited number of roster spots available. Although the goal is to accommodate as many players as possible, if interest exceeds capacity then players who are not selected will be added to a wait list.
Registration typically opens in late May, with tryouts and team selection in early June.
